In seeking to resolve this issue, the Band Booster Board has sought assistance from the School Administration and in conjunction with them has received legal advice from three different attorneys.
At the Band Booster meeting held on Tuesday, June 16, 2009, it was determined that Howell Band Boosters would suspend operations during the 09/10 school year as the Board works to resolve these issues. In pursuing resolution of this situation, the attorneys brought to light several issues regarding the structure of the Howell High Band Boosters that need resolution. PLEASE BRING EVERYTHING YOU NEED FOR THE PARADE AND THE GAME TO SCHOOL THAT MORNING. We then rock out at the game and cheer our Highlanders to victory. Don’t miss out! If you are a late joiner to marching band, you must begin attending rehearsals starting monday. YOU MUST ATTEND BAND CAMP.. Kids you will be able to print off your drill sheets for marching band. You get in the game for free, and the kids have a blast. Boosters will be coming in during classes this week to fit the kids for uniforms (Notice cutting down on wasted class time?). We will be having auditions in all of the concert band classes (Concert, Symphonic, Drum Corps Videos and Wind Ensemble) for grades and chair placement. Thursday and Concert band was given the music on Friday. We will meet to practice marching techniques before band camp and learn some of the new music for our season. 2. The color guard would like to borrow a boom box for the rest of the season. I will be on site running our portion of the event as will at least one administrator, so you can rest assured they will be supervised. There will be no pep band for the boys basketball team this friday! There would be no common code of ethics nor would there be any morality — there would be no purpose to act good and no motive to behave kindly. This is a good year for Michigan’s top high school marching bands. More fun (Being good at what you do is fun. If you’re new to the marching band program and would like more info or have any questions, plan on attending the first 30 minutes of Newbie Day (8:00 a.m.). The activity is completely optional, and you have to get your own transportation to and from the performance. Many of you asked me if you could get one of those TOTALLY SWEET (Nice Job Bri Wiepert on the design!) shirts that the band has been wearing. We really need a lot of people to come out to this one because we need to pay for some of the acts that we are putting on.
