Valentine’s Day will soon be here, so I decided to write an article about couples and astrology synastry chart. Everyone is always asking about love and marriage in astrology, so I’m giving you some of the key factors in a healthy relationship between two people.
A bit of research was done with some of my friends and I compared their birth charts to mine. Here are the results. Many of the charts that I studied were for romantic couples. But I also found some platonic friend chart data. The results were very close.
Editor’s note: You will see positive aspects and negative aspects throughout the article. Positive aspects are trine, conjunction, and sextile (unless there is a need for specification), while negative aspects are squares and oppositions (unless there is a need for specification). The explanation is here for ease of reading. Trine refers to the 120-degree separation of two planets. Conjunction means that the two planets have the same degree for a sign. This can bring comfort and ease. Sextile is the 60-degree separation of two planets, which represents the elemental aspect of opportunity. Square means that two planets are 90 degrees apart, causing tension and challenges, while opposite means that two planets are 180 degrees apart- complete opposites.
Sun/Moon/Ascendant aspects:
The Sun/Moon/Ascendant aspects of any relationship are vital. This adds energy to the relationship and brings together like-mindedness. It is a great way to create a positive relationship. These personalities blend well together and they enjoy each other’s company. Although conjunctions can have mixed results, I find them to be positive when they are between the Sun/Moon/Ascendant.
The oppositions or squares that occur between any of these points can create significant differences which the couple will need help to resolve. The differences can be in personality (Sun/Ascendant), but there will still be differences with the square aspect and the opposition.
Venus/Moon Aspects
Venus and Moon are very important personal solar planets. These two influence our interactions with others. Venus is a social and emotional planet. The Moon, on the other hand, is a social planet. Venus and Moon are both positive planets, and many lovebirds have them in their charts. The couple will be gentle and loving, as they both possess gentle energy.
Although they can indicate some attraction between Venus and Moon, the negative aspects are usually more indicative of a dislike for each other. The couple may be attracted but their emotions are often out of synch.
Mercury Aspects
Mercury is a planet that many people don’t think about when they think of relationships. However, how can a relationship work without clear communication and understanding? Mercury positive aspects can indicate communication. If there is a positive Mercury aspect, the couple will be able to communicate easily.
Communication is more difficult when there are negative or hard aspects to Mercury placements. Mercury oppositions and squares make communication difficult. There are also common arguments, often due to misinterpretations of information or misinterpretations. While this is not an indication of a breakup in a relationship, it can certainly make things more complicated.
Venus/Mars Aspects
If a couple has a positive Venus/Mars aspect, their physical chemistry is evident. These are the lovers who love each other passionately. These couples are able to easily be intimate with each other because their physical needs and desires match up well. Venus can give Mars what it needs intimately and the planets are extremely attracted to one another.
Even couples who have opposing Mars or Venus signs can enjoy great chemistry. While it might seem a little rough around the edges of the relationship, Mars and Venus can be a great couple if they have other positive attributes.
Jupiter Aspects
Jupiter doesn’t have to be all things. Jupiter can bring too much intoxication to a relationship. However, it can also bring joy. Jupiter must have enough aspects of personal planets that make you happy to be with your partner, but not so many that it makes you feel overwhelmed. Jupiter aspects between two people can make them feel more generous around each other, and overall more positive.
Jupiter squares, oppositions, and other situations are where it gets a little overwhelming. Couples might be prone to buying gifts each other and spending too much money. The Jupiter partner is likely to be the most impulsive spender.
Saturn Aspects
Saturn aspects bring a healthy dose of realism to relationships. As much as they need enthusiasm and optimism, relationships also require practicality. Saturn also provides a bit of an “anchor” to the relationship, especially with positive aspects. These aspects are known to provide stability and help to keep the relationship going through tough times.
Saturn’s negative qualities can be more difficult to handle but are not impossible. Saturn’s negative aspects are easier to deal with when paired up with Venus or Moon, which is a gentler planet. Saturn can also be in opposition in squares or oppositions. Saturn people may be too harsh in their criticisms.
Uranus aspects:
Uranus is unpredictable and can cause chaos in any relationship it touches. For those who are looking for calmer and peace in their lives, however, this can prove to be frustrating. Uranus is a good choice for those who enjoy the textiles, trines, and occasionally conjunctions. However, it can cause too much chaos and anxiety in the cases of squares or oppositions.
Concluding my research, I found that successful relationships have a good balance of the above aspects in their synastry charts. Friendships and romantic relationships were more difficult than those that thrived. The relationships that failed had more negative aspects and planets. While the happy ones had stronger trines, textiles, or conjunctions with more positive planets. However, balance is important and it can be difficult to manage relationships if you have too much. It is important to make an effort and work through any issues.
